From 1975 to 1988 Headlined at his own sucessful Night Club in NYC on Posh 61St & 3rd Avenue, The Magic Towne House 12th Anniversary Celebration

The club was a big hit, due to in part to aggressive promotion by Brookz, including postering the city over and over. It helped establish The Magic Towne House as a major NYC venue for that would run for 13 years. The Magic Towne House ads appeared in The New York Post, Cue Magazine, New York Magazine, the Village Voice, along with write ups in the major NY newspapers including The NY Times for the shows performed by Dick Brooks, partner Dorothy Dietrich & others.

Satirist Brother Theodore's career had collapsed. He was brought out of retirement by Dick Brookz in the mid 1970's. It took multiple calls to Theodore to convince him to make a comeback. Theodore's attitude was bleak, & he felt his career was over. "He was hustling chess." Brooks wanted to charge ten or more dollars, but Theodore insisted on four dollars, so as not to scare people away. His Magic Towne House Sat. midnight shows were a success & ran after Dietrich & Broosz's regular shows.

TV casting directors caught his act, he was on Tom Snyders Tomorrow Show 10/31/1977. "Once he started to appear on TV, he changed theaters, we never heard from him again & he never once said 'Thank You.' " Theodore made 16 appearances on NBC's Late Night with David Letterman in the early 1980s, & was a regular on the Billy Crystal Show. He appeared in the film The Burbs. Just before his death he did several monologues for a documentary series. Thanks to Brookz he was a celebrity again toward the end of his life.

Dick Brookz started as a kid doing Tootsie Roll commercials for The Paul Whiteman TV Teen Club in 1953, then he was replaced by a young starting adult, Dick Clark. George Scheck auditioned him in his office for Startime Kids. He then brought him in to NBC studios to audition on camera with Kenny Sharpe, as possibly teaming them up together. Never developed. He met Rosalie years later through high school friend Bobby Darin & Don Kirschner. He wrote several songs with her that she would record on Coral Records.
